Jackson Family History

The Jackson Family has a storied legacy that began with John Jackson, born in January 1849 in Carroll, Mississippi. John was the son of George and Elizabeth Jackson, who were 45 and 39 years old, respectively, at the time of his birth. In 1868, John married Nellie Douglas in Wilkinson, Mississippi, and together they started a vibrant family. Over the next 23 years, they welcomed nine children into the world, each of whom contributed to the family’s rich tapestry of life and tradition. The couple’s children grew up in an era marked by significant social changes, and they were influenced by their parents’ strong values and work ethic. John’s life was a testament to resilience and dedication; he lived until June 30, 1940, when he passed away in Grayson, Texas, at the impressive age of 91. As the decades passed, the descendants of John and Nellie Jackson continued to thrive, carrying forward the family’s commitment to community, education, and hard work. Each generation of the Jackson family maintained a close-knit bond, often gathering for family reunions where stories of their ancestors were shared, ensuring that the legacy of John and Nellie lived on. Their lineage is marked not only by their rich history but also by their contributions to the fabric of American life, echoing the values instilled in them by their forebears.

Mars Family History

The Mars Family traces its roots back to Daniel Mars, who was born in 1800 in London, England, to Patrick Marr and Mary Doran. After emigrating to the United States, Daniel settled in Wilkinson County, Mississippi, where he married Johanna in 1865. Together, they built a vibrant household, welcoming four sons and four daughters who contributed to the family legacy in various ways. Daniel’s life was characterized by hard work and perseverance, values he instilled in his children, who grew up in a close-knit environment, deeply connected to their community and heritage. Daniel passed away in December 1891 at the impressive age of 91, leaving behind a rich legacy that continued through his descendants. His children went on to lead fulfilling lives—some became farmers, tradesmen, educators, and community leaders—each carrying forward the Mars name while embracing the values of dedication and service instilled by their parents. The Mars Family remains proud of its lineage, holding reunions that celebrate their shared history and the enduring influence of Daniel and Johanna on future generations.
